Description

To install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain MAC & PC-compatible computers, peripherals and associated hardware and software installations. Configure and maintain iOS and Android based tablets. Provide support to end-users on a variety of issues, including software, hardware, and peripherals.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of two years of hands-on experience as a PC technician
  • Working experience in a K-12 educational environment and/or a large-scale technology program (i.e., multiple projects) is preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education (lesser) and experience (lesser) may be considered in lieu of requirements
  • Proven admin or assistant experience
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • At least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area

High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred

 

Responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:
Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of MAC & PC-compatible computers, peripherals and associated hardware and software installations
Knowledge, experience, and ability to support desktop operating systems (including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10 & Mac OS X), mobile operating systems (including iOS and android) and desktop applications such as the various MS Office applications
Knowledge, experience, and ability to support internet applications (including Firefox, IE Explorer, Chrome & Safari)
Ability and knowledge of how to connect a PC/MAC to a network and ability to verify network connectivity
Ability to build and maintain current technological inventory
General networking competence using various NET commands is preferred (will be expected to connect to network drives and printers)
Experience with and the ability to use diagnostic tools
Contact software and hardware vendors for tech support and warranty assistance when necessary
Strong interpersonal, communication (both oral and written)
Must be a self-starter and have demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum upervision, yet remain a strong team player
Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous tasks
Must have professional appearance and strong desire to learn
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
Provide information by answering questions and requests
Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
